Salma Hayek Knighted in France

Actor, producer and director Salma Hayek will be among those receiving the Chevalier award from the prestigious National Order of the Legion of Honor of France. Established in 1802 by Napoleon, the Order is the highest decoration given in France to both civilians and military personnel.  It consists of five tiers: Chevalier (Knight), Officier (Officer), Commandeur (Commander), Grand Officier (Grand Officer) and Grand Croix (Grand Cross). The award ceremony will take place at the Champs Elysee Palace in Paris and given by the President of France, Nicolas Sarcozy.
